The primary goal of the Weatherization Assistance Program is to reduce energy consumption and lower energy costs for low-income families, particularly those who may struggle to pay their energy bills. This program accomplishes its objectives through various measures, including:

Home energy audits

Trained professionals assess the energy efficiency of eligible homes to identify areas where improvements are needed.

Energy Efficiency Upgrades:

Weatherization services may include adding insulation, sealing air leaks, repairing or replacing heating and cooling systems, and upgrading appliances to more energy-efficient models.

Health and Safety Improvements:

The program also addresses health and safety concerns, such as addressing carbon monoxide and radon issues, and ensuring proper ventilation.

Education:

Recipients of weatherization services may also receive education on energy-efficient practices to help them reduce their energy consumption.
